Uncensored, unedited, unridiculed. I want to try that today. So here we go--a leap into Kimber's subconcious:

Boing. Boing. Boing. Boing.....I tried to put my hair in sponge curlers last night. Actually, I didn't try. I really DID put sponge curlers in my hair....when I took them out this morning I looke like a clown. Except I didn't have face paint. I spent the rest of my morning trying to fix what had taken me a good hour or so the night before. stupid stupid. boing boing...
Two free movie tickets. What am I going to do with them? Eli and I are broken up, but even if we WEREN'T he's eight hours away in Idaho where he could watch a movie for less money than the gas would cost to come here and watch a free one. Stupid. Stupid....boing. haha....this is silly...I can't believe I'm actually going to post this on my blog. I just feel bad that I haven't posted anything for so long. So this will have to do.

It's not like there is nothing going on in my life. I do all kinds of things....facebook....text....play piano....clean my room. But which of those sounds like it would be an interesting thing to write about? None of them. That's right.....

My birthday was Sunday. I didn't like it. I'm now 21. It surprises me that every year my birthday seems to be less of a big deal. I really could care less about it. Well, that's not true....maybe I just have high hopes for it that I know won't happen, so I dread the day it comes, because I know I'll only be disappointed. Probably. Maybe. Boing.

One more minute left. This is harder than it looks...or sounds...or something. Oh....just kidding there's only a few seconds left......blank...blank.......clock.....I want to start a jazz group here. That would be fun.

Done.

Summer Plans

Sit. Who wrote the book of Love? He IS. He' s incredibly intelligent. He's studied Latin, Hebrew, AND Greek. He looks like a GQ model (he even leans on walls like one). He is a great conversationalist. He's athletic. He smells good. He's a tenor. He's creative. Kind. Hardworking. Down-to-earth. And he's dating a girl named Kimber.

People are starting to ask where this relationship is headed, and I don't really know what to tell them. I guess there are only two ways the relationship can go.

I'm not against the idea of marrying him (see above description to understand why)...but at the same time, I'm not sure I have a desire to. Shouldn't love be something more than a person matching (or even exceeding) your checklist? We get along great...and we share a lot of interests and beliefs. Almost everyone that sees us together thinks we make a great couple. We do. Even I know that. So....why am I not more giddy about this relationship?

I know that relationships aren't always perfect, but shouldn't there be some kind of fireworks thing going on? Am I crazy? Maybe I've watched one too many chick flicks and I'm confused about what a healthy relationship is? Might there be someone better out there for me?

I don't know...maybe I should just go to bed. =)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimber-kaw.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-i-wonder-wonder-whoba-doo-doo-who.html' title='Oh I wonder wonder who...ba doo doo who? I believe that nymphs have enough sense to fall for people on a deeper basis than beauty. He probably ALSO had a meltingly gorgeous singing voice, was academically inclined, had a hilarious sense of humor, and wore stylish sandals.
Everyone gives Narcissus a hard rap because he rejected Echo, but who are THEY to tell him who to fall in love with? Maybe he had commitment issues--he was only fifteen after all. That's FAR too young to get married. Besides, Echo was annoying. All she could do was repeat every word that came out of Narcissus' mouth. Now given, Narcissus was probably very witty, wise, and well worth repeating, however this does NOT diminish the value of original thought. Had he accepted the persistent love of Echo, her determined doting would have been reveled in for a little bit, and then he would have become incurably bored.
"Echo, my dear, It's been lovely that you always do what I want to do, but it's becoming rather exhausting to make all of the decisions. What do YOU want to do today?"

"What do YOU want to do today?"

"I don't know. I want YOU to pick!"

"I don't know. I want YOU to pick!"

"But I don't want to!"

"But I don't want to!"

Yes, that would have been a miserable marriage; avoiding it shows that he must have had quite a bit of foresight for such a young fellow.

Narcissus was probably incredibly emotionally stable when compared to other youths of his age. While they were bemoaning their greek noses and ill-fitting togas, he was giving himself positive, self-validating speeches. "Narcissus, you good looking fellow you, what incredible feats are you going to accomplish today?!" It's really too bad he got stuck looking at his reflection for so long--he probably would have made a great motivational speaker! "Learning to Love the Man in the Mirror: A Teenager's Guide to Good Self-esteem." Think of how many anorexic, self-depreciating greek adolescents he could have saved! And Welcome to Life.

2010.
This will be the fourth decade that I have been alive for. This is the decade wherein I start my life as an adult. What I do in this decade will determine what I'll be for the rest of my life. It's rather frightening for me to contemplate on that. This is the decade where I start a career, COMPLETELY move out on my own....possibly choose an eternal companion, buy my own car...start worrying about troublesome things like insurance and electric bills. This is the decade where I have to stop saying "when I grow up I want to be..." and now I get to just "BE."

What DO I want to be? WHO do I want to be? (Side note...I can hear my family playing Rock Band in the basement right now, and my mom is one solid rocker. Haha....)

I feel like those two questions should have been the catalyst for a bunch of new year/decade resolutions....but honestly I'm feeling more baffled at my future than motivated to plan and predict how my life will turn out. I feel like I'm at a crucial stage in my life, and yet, I'm feeling more lost and confused about what I want in my future than ever. After all of my lofty plans for this last year rather fell through, It seems that I have that Sondre Lerche song stuck in my head non-stop. "Better be prepared to be surprised....." I think that's what I've resolved to this year....

Now I just have to figure out how the heck one goes about preparing to be surprised.

Happy New Year everyone!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimber-kaw.blogspot.com/2009/12/happy-new-decade-and-welcome-to-life.html' title='Happy New Decade!!! I can't remember a time in my life when I was so busy! I'm finally starting to settle into the swing of things though--of course I AM putting off homework to publish this post....
Pretty much, I came up to school early to start my new job at the student financial aid office, and about two weeks into the semester I had to quit my job just to keep up with the rest of my life. I'm hangin' on by a thread--it's rather thrilling in a way. So since school has started I have:

Passed my first awful atonal theory and ear training test

Scored and arranged two songs--one for a string quintet, one for a woodwind quintet

Been trying my best to fulfill two church callings

driven home for general conference

Watched a Manhattan Transfer concert in Salt Lake

Performed at a dinner party with Vocal Union

Been kissed

Had a birthday, and ate a yummy cake

Purchased a laptop (FINALLY--and I adore it. I don't know what took me so long to get one. My life is SO much simpler now.)

had a roommate get engaged

etc. etc.

I'm hoping that is a satisfactory update for anyone that hasn't given up on me, and still occasionally checks my blog. =) I'm already learning TONS this semester...and I think all of my roommates are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Hooray for life!

Money Rant

I am P-O-O-R. Maybe it's not that cool, but I'm not very good at coming up with surprises. I'm going to post a memory of each person that commented on my last post. Hooray!
Here we go:
Missy--this is kind of random, but for some reason I keep thinking about a time when we stood next to each other in line on school picture day and just talked about whatever. I remember being surprised at how fast you were getting through highschool...and it seems like Michael had already given you a ring! Maybe I'm wrong on that point....but I remember thinking that you were a cool girl. You still are! It was really fun to see you and the baby on the 4th! You should come up here more often!!!

Aunt Leslie--I have lots of good memories with you, my lovely aunt! My current favorite is when we had Kareoke night at your house a few years ago. I thought you and my mom were absolutely CRAZY! I was to embarassed to get up and sing myself, but I sure enjoyed watching the two of you and your daughters dancing around. =) Good times...

Jesse Bramall-- My favorite memory with you will forever be the night you taught me the polka. Seriously, it was probably the most magical night of my life. I didn't mind that my feet got wet from the freshly watered grass, or that I got so dizzy I thought that I'd fall over--I was just happy to be practically flying through McKenzie's yard with Jesse Bramall ;) Thanks for that =)

Alejandro-- Haha...I'm going to choose the night that we watched Fiddler on the Roof, and you taught me how to pop popcorn in a pot. I thought it was the most amazing thing! And the popcorn was SO dang good!!! That was a good night. And I owe you a couple of pineapples if you come visit me next week!

Life is like shoe polish...

OK, here's the game. We had SUCH an awesome time!!! The best part of the trip was Monday night. We met up with Juliann Hollowell and Alex Ashby to bowl and afterwards decided to finger paint--which as you can see turned into a paint war. It was pretty much amazing. Charles comes home in less than a week, and then I'll stop making everyone else miserable with my obsessive count down. I'm not going to lie--I'm a bit nervous. I'm afraid that when Charles finally steps off the airplane on Wednesday, I'll have a heart attack or something. I've never come face to face with such a highly anticipated event before....so I don't know how my body will react. I DO know that my sleep has been affected. I think I lose an extra hour of sleep every night as it gets closer to his homecoming date. I probably won't get ANY sleep the night of the 16th, and when Charles sees me he'll probably want to run back to Canada--away from the Zombie woman.
Oh goodness, I'm so excited.

Cool Vocal Union Pic

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 154px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8pM-hQFscrY/SiVjS5_BOjI/AAAAAAAAAD4/zeNctryUUrA/s320/vu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342785709398899250" />
I found this photo on Em's blog and thought it was awesome. I need to put a decent picture of the dent in my windowsill--pretty intense. My head still hurts.
I've decided that fainting is only a romantic thing to do if you have a boy there to catch you--not a windowsill. The good news is that it gave me a very good excuse to stay in bed and read all day. Tour was incredible. It was so fun to have experiences and perform for all kinds of people. Highlights were definitely Disneyland, seeing a Giraffe give birth at the San Diego Zoo, and performing for friends and family in Nevada and Utah. So cool. I'm really going to miss Vocal Union, but I'm relieved to be back home. With my very own room. And Rock Band. (JK, my new thing is Wii fit--I haven't played rock band once since I've been home. Maybe I'll go do that now....

Happy Birthday Jenna!!!!

Jenna love, I hope you have the best birthday ever! We're touring parts of Nevada, Utah, and California, and I think it would be RAD (to use a Shella word) if any of you could make it to a concert. We've got some really sweet songs we're singing this semester....and I have some fun solos =) I posted some samples of what we're going to be singing on the side of my page. Feel free to listen and get excited! I'll let you know dates and locations when I get more details...but seriously, you should come. Yes, YOU.

Ok....so I love my barbershop quartet. The following is a list of things I want to get done this year, things that simply WILL happen....and what ever else I feel like writing.

First of all I REALLY want to learn to like the snow. I'll be living in it for the next few months, so I might as well learn to like it right?

*A slew of missionaries will be coming home this summer, including Zach Forsyth, Charles Bulloch, and my wonderful older brother, Daniel.

*I will finish my sophomore year at BYU-I (and for those of you still wondering, yes I'm back in Idaho, and yes, I'm a music major again)

* I, like the millions of other less-than-fit people around the world, would love to get in shape this year. I don't like giving myself to many limits on what that means--because if I miss a day of exercising or something I usually totally give up all together. Just MORE fit.

*Perhaps go on tour to CA with Vocal Union

*Go to Wicked in April!

*My room mate Kayla is getting married in April!

*I would REALLY love to get a job in Idaho to help pay for living costs (like housing and food)...so I don't have to take out a student loan and accrue interest.

*I want to start going to the temple regularly this semester. I definitely need to make time for that.

*I'm finishing up my theory and ear training classes this year! And getting done with the only math class I'll ever have to take from now on (I hope)!

Well...It's almost 3 AM and that's all that I can think of. I might add more later. This is going to be an awesome year!!!!

Kimber

Mrs. Grinch

It's three days until Christmas, and I'm still not feeling the Christmas spirit. I feel like Mrs. Grinch or something. It's awful. I even have some cool light up reindeer-antlers to stick on my head. and they haven't helped much. Maybe I need to give more....I went caroling the other night with a few friends to some widows, and that was the warm-fuzziest I've felt in a long time. But unfortunately, I'm back to grinching. It's not like I'm being overly-selfish. I haven't really thought at all about what I might be getting Christmas morning--I'm just not in a jingle-belling, fudge-making, hug-giving mood this season. I have however had some fun playing out of a jazz-Christmas book for the piano that we have. And I suppose just about anything is better than finals, eh? And at least Christmas involves chocolate.

Thank goodness for Thanksgivinging!

Sorry....I didn't intend to go on strike for quite so long =) I just got a bit busy there...
So guess what?!!! I start my journey home tomorrow morning at 5:00!!! I'm taking the shuttle down to SLC where I'm excited to watch the Hurricane High School football team kick butt at the championship game. Go TIGERS!!! And then I'm going to ride home with my Dad and brother the rest of the way. It's going to be a pretty darn busy week...I still have a TON of homework to do, I need to help my mom clean the house, I'm working approximately 30-36 hours while I'm home, and I still want to get as much hanging out in as I can. Luckily, if I don't get to see everyone while I'm home, I'll be home againg in just a few weeks, and I'll definitely have time then!!!
AAAAH! I'm so excited to see my new house it's insane!

I'm trying to think of things in my life that perhaps you would all like to be updated on....but I think there's not much too my life but homework, and who wants to hear about that? No one.
My room mate Ashlee got a couple of cute baby turtles the otherday. One of them is named.....something cool I don't remember....and the other one is Megatron! Haha...they're pretty rad.
My room mate Alyssa has gotten me pretty much addicted to Triscuits. She likes the cracked pepper and olive oil ones, but I'm rather partial to the seasoned tomatoe kind with slices of pepper jack cheese! Yum!!! Two of my roommates are engaged (Kayla and Trisha) and two of them have boyfriends (Ashlee and Kimberly) and Alyssa has a thriving social life, so sometimes it's just me..and everyone with their boyfriends. It gets kind of awkward at times =) Haha....I try to stay strong though. Usually I just go to my room and do homework and go to sleep (if I'm not at the Snow late practicing for an ear training test, or putting together a powerpoint presentation for my music tech class that I should have started weeks ago.)
I'm ashamed to say that my apartment is an absolute disaster most of the time....it seems as if we're all home just long enough to make messes, and not long enough to clean them up. I think we've failed clean check every week. However, we've discovered that they don't really DO anything to us if we don't pass except leave little post-it notes saying "less-clutter, make your beds--we'll be back next week" So I can't say that any of us feel very motivated to improve. I'm excited to have my own house when I'll know that all the mess is mine, so I will feel more obligated to clean up. It's harder when you feel like your room mates are the messy ones =)

My vocal juries are coming up, so if any one wants a bit of an opera concert, I seriously need to practice performing for people. It's one thing to sing jazz, broadway, or church songs to the public, but let me tell you--opera is a whole 'notha' thing. It scares me half to death to sing classically for people. I'm afraid that I sound like a warbly platypus or something....Wow. I don't know where that simile came from. Hmmm....I wonder what a warbly platypus sounds like?

I hope this post was satisfactory. I love you all and hope to see you soon!!!!

Strike!

Ok, I'm officially on strike from writing on this blog until I get some decent comments on my previous three posts. Every free hour I get I've been trying to finish up this insanely long assignment. I'm supposed to write a single-spaced half page on the philosophy of numerous different philosophers, and the significance of different events and time periods. By the time I finish it will have taken me a minimum of thirteen hours to complete. I woke up at 4 AM this morning to see if I could get some more of it done before I turn it in on Wednesday, but it's now 6:30 and I have a pounding headache--which isn't good because within the hour I have to figure out how to modulate up or down half a step in a key by using augmented german 6 chords and secondary dominants (don't ask). So I've opted for checking out facebook and blogging for a bit.
Life is still good. My ward choir sang in sacrament meeting for the first time yesterday (I had to raise my hand in the middle of sacrament meeting to tell them we were performing, because the bishopric had forgotten and I was pretty anxious for my choir to sing). Yesterday's practice was my favorite because I led the men's sectionals, so as we were finding someplace to practice I had about 8 guys following in a line behind me =) haha...
My vocal union performance went well. We sang three songs, and I sang the first and last solos so that was kind of fun =) I got hugs from a few people that watched the show, and compliments from people I've never met before, so that's always fun. My family was even able to come up to watch!!! They must love me or something...
um....I passed my oral German diction test last week! So I can sing German correctly...I just have no clue what I'm saying =) I'm officially sick of lauts (ach-lauts, ich-lauts, and um-lauts). They're simply unnatural. The good news is, I get to start learning french diction! Hurrah!!! I watched part of My Fair Lady last night, and I could actually understand some of Prof. Higgins IPA symbols!!! (International phonetic alphabet)
I sang in a voice rectial last Thursday. I'd prepared all week and sounded good if I do say so myself, but once I got in front of the piano to sing I completely forgot how the song started. Luckily I'm a dang good actress, and I kept my poise while I struggled to remember my words...so I pulled it off. I wish I didn't get so nervous performing for people though. Speaking of performing, I get to sing "How High the Moon" with BYU-I's Jazz band (Sound Alliance) at the fall formal! I'm pretty much ecstatic about it. Vocal Union is singing a couple of songs as well. I'm a bit nervous about Agua de Bebe, because we've only looked at it like twice, and it's supposed to be memorized for Friday. That wouldn't be too much of a problem except that I don't speak portugese. My dad does. Not that that helps anything. =)
So, I'm thinking that if I can get through this week, I'll be ok for a few more weeks to come. Except perhaps in ear training...we'll have to see about that. We have a test every week now, and it's getting to the point where I can't even play the sight singing exams on the piano! Yikes. Yeah, pretty intense.
After the general conference talks a few weeks ago, I determined to try to live in the moment and be happy. So, despite all of these stress causing factors, I'm ok. Because if you think about it, when it comes to grades, the worst that can happen to me (getting an F) won't ruin my life forever, and living life is more important than a grade right? So I'm just trying to be happy as I do my homework, and absorb all I can. Sometimes it's harder to live with this attitude than other times. I'll admit that I'm getting pretty excited for Christmas break...except for the fact that it means moving on to Ear Training three. =( If I pass ear training two that is....=)
Ok...well I'm starting to fall asleep at this computer, so methinks it's time to go warm up my voice for the day! La la la la laaaa!
I hope that everyone has an absolutely delectable day!
Love ya!
Kimber

Life is Good

Wow...so I've pretty much been way busy lately, and haven't really had time to post. The coolest thing that's happened is that I made it into Vocal Union--it's the Vocal Jazz ensemble here, and it's AMAZING. I feel like because of this group, I finally have friends I can call to do things with. I'm finally fitting in up here. I'm really happy. Very busy, and sometimes stressed, but happy.

I'll admit though...it's weird feeling like my friends are at home having fun without me... Not that they shouldn't--I'm here having fun with out them...but...I don't know how to say it. I guess I feel like I exist in a totally different world than they do now. I miss them tons...but at that same time....I'm ok I guess. Wow I like using elipses don't I?!! haha....see ya'll round!

A Fond Farewell

Wow...I'm going to Idaho today. Crazy. Three Days ago I wasn't even really thinking about going back, and now all of the sudden, I am. Before I'm on my way and don't have my own computer for awhile, I wanted to say goodbye to each of you....just in case you didn't feel like you got a good enough goodbye yesterday. I guess...we'll go in Alphabetical order. =)

Claire--It's kind of a bummer that you have parents that actually care about you and want you home in good time so you can sleep =) I would have liked to have seen you last night, but I know that you'll miss me, and thanks for the effort you put in on that wonderful blanket. I'm so glad that you and I are best friends. You are probably one of the most loyal people I have ever met. It will be fun for you for me to be a music major as well. We can call and complain to eachother about ear training tests and juries. =) You really need to let me know when you start having music major night mares. :) I'm going to miss you so much! I'll let you know if I find any new recipes that I think you should try. When I come back We'll have to go to Iceburg sometime...

Jesse--I love that you and I were able to become such good friends in such a short amount of time. As I've told you many times, I find you very easy to talk to...and it was nice to be able to talk to someone who hasn't heard all of my stories a hundred times already =) I'm sorry that I'm leaving at an already stressful time for you, I hope that by me being away, maybe you'll be able to focus on school even better than you already were, and so maybe this will turn out to be a stress reliever for you. Also, good luck with your biology book. I'll be sure to give my withdrawal form to you if I get one. The best to you and all of the decisions you have to make within the next year.

Kyle--Hey ya bum. Thanks for making me laugh this summer. I think the times that you made me laugh at myself and at you far outway the times I was frustrated with you--and that's saying something ;). I will thoroughly miss staying up late talking to you on the trampoline, and you telling me that I'm getting in your bubble...I'll miss you making me blush.....kind of....and I'll miss accompanying you while you sing. I'll miss you even though you refuse to be my feeling massager :) Thanks for putting up with my occasional neediness, and for spending like half of your comp tickets on me. Keep having fun with Tuacahn, and let me know if you fall in love with any more pretty girls. See ya in November best buddy!

Shella---Shellala, It's really too bad that we've been best friends for a while now, and yet we still have different taste in things. I'm really sad that we don't get to go to school together....I guess we'll just have to hold off until we live next door to each other. You are going to be the radest dental hygienist ever! I'm totally going to let you clean my teeth. I feel bad about leaving you...but not as bad as I did last year because now that you have Claire and Kyle to hang out with I'm hoping you won't be lonely without me or Zach. Just think....when I come home from school, Zach will only be a few months away from coming home!!! You'd better come up and visit again this year!! Love ya tons!

OK....man I'm going to miss Hurricane, but this really is what is right for me. I'll be back before you know it. Be on the look out for good quartet songs, and maybe the house I'm living in now will be the new echo house when I get back. We can sing in my room with the dolphins or something!!!! I really truly love you all. I know you'll be just fine with out me...but try not to be more than "just fine"--I like to feel needed :) I love you all tons!!! Goodbye! I'll miss you!!!!

Love,

Kimber

Live in the Moment

Mandy Johnson was killed in a plane crash yesterday. I think it was a horrifying shock to everyone. It's always hard when someone so young dies. It's a brutal reminder that life has no guarantee. No one really knows how long they have to live, so it's SO important to remember the important things in life. And of course, the most important things aren't things, but relationships. Always live in the moment. Make sure that you're kind to everyone, don't be afraid to show someone that you care about them. Hey all of you? I care about you!!! I know that I'm not a very emotional person...and maybe I don't give enough hugs to people, but I really do feel a strong attachment to all of you that read this blog. Shella, Jesse, Craig, Joe, and Coltin came over to play a couple of games, and then we headed over to Shella's for peaches and icecream. Yum. I seriously think that if you bite into a Hurricane peach, you can't help but believe that God exists. Shella's dad started getting instruments out for people to play, so Jesse and I ran to my house to get a few more (actually we drove. And I ran over the ripstick in my drive way...). By the time we started playing songs together we had the most eclectic group of instruments I think I've ever seen. We had two electric guitars, two accousitc guitars, a mandolin, a fiddle, a harmonica, a flute, an accordian, and the bongos. It was pretty much amazing. Claire, Whitney, and their dates joined us a little later at which point we went over to the echo house to experience singing in my storage room. It was really nice to have more boys than just Kyle to sing with. I LOVE singing in the echo house. After we sang a few songs we plugged a boombox into the wall of my garage and danced to good old Michael Buble. The odds were great: 6 guys to 3 girls. Very enjoyable. Can I just say that I love Hurricane? Good clean fun.

Thoughts on Honesty

The lesson in my Gospel Principles class last Sunday was on honesty and I've been thinking about it off and on ever since (I am known to think every once in a while). Honesty really is the best policy I think. I've had too many good experiences with telling the truth to think otherwise.
A couple of weeks ago I lost my dad's sunglasses, and I kept putting off telling him because I half-heartedly hoped (ooh good alliteration!) that they would show up--they never did. In class, we discussed the sin of omission, and I decided I'd better tell my dad =). It REALLY wasn't a big deal. My dad just said, "ok, good. We're even because I was feeling bad that you paid for a tank of gas in my car last week. I'm just glad to know that I didn't lose another pair of my sunglasses." And that was it. And I felt tons better. A week before the afore mentioned incident, I put a pretty big dent in my Mom's car. As soon as I got home I told her, and THAT wasn't a big deal either. She just said, "Well Daniel left a dent, and this was your first one...so that's good, and I'd rather a dent than something bigger. Now maybe you'll learn to be more careful." When I showed my dad the dent he said, "Kimber, that's not as big as the what I did to my car." And then he gave me hug and said, "This is why we buy disposable cars." Now, I admit, I have pretty darn amazing parents so it may be easier for me to tell the truth to them than it would be for some of my peers to tell their parents, but I think that getting rid of the guilt is worth just about any punishment. So my question is, why aren't people more honest to each other? Even people who are really good friends aren't always honest with eachother--sometimes they're not honest to eachother because they're good friends and they don't want to hurt feelings. I'll be honest =), I think that's very understandable, but dumb. People are generally less offended when you tell them the truth (in a kind caring way) than when you don't and they find out later anyway. I've had to tell some of my friends things when I wasn't sure if they would have favorable reactions, but I've discovered that even if things are uncomfortable or even painful at first, it generally all (as Claire would say) comes out in the wash. And you can have even closer relationships built on trust. OK....this feels kind of weird to post all of this on my blog. I usually try to just post entertaining, funny things, but this has just been on my mind lately. It's something that I have to continually work on, so I hope no one feels like this is a preachy post =) Love ya guys! Be honest!
PS-- if any of you feel like adding your thoughts or stories about honesty to mine, please post some comments =)

ok...so I feel bad that I haven't posted anything for awhile. I just feel so intimidated by everyone who puts pictures on their blogs....I'm just too lazy to do that. So I guess I'll just have to paint ya'll some pictures with my words! Since a picture is worth a thousand words, does that mean that I have to talk a lot? Well....all right, so picture me behind a desk about to pass out. That's what I've been doing this week. I'm training as a PSN PSR at the IHC clinic here in Hurricane. PSN PSR is just an official sounding way to say that I'm a front desk girl that comes in whenever they need me to. I didn't think a desk job could be so intense. When I'm at the instacare desk, I practically hold people's lives in my hands! I don't much like the idea of killing some one, so I'm going to be the best receptionist that clinic has ever seen! Just kidding...my office manager, Jason, says that it will probably be about 6 months before I even feel competent in my job. I believe him. Everyone says I'm catching on fast, but I feel like everything is just flying over my head. I think that the hardest thing is trying to guess how to spell all of the prescriptions that people call in for. xytoluticol....what? I don't even know if I just spelled the word prescription right.... luckily there is such thing as a hold button, and a transfer button. Other wise I would probably have ruined the entire Family Practice in the clinic by now. I'm sure I spend a lot more time putting people on hold, so I can ask questions, than I do actually talking to the people calling me =) Luckily I have two more training meetings I get to go to next week, so hopefully that will help.
Gas is too expensive.
So I think it's pretty cool that pretty much everyone is coming home to go to Dixie. It makes me feel a lot better about me doing it =) I'm glad I'll have lots of friends down here to do things with!
Yes, that would be a hint to all of you who are going to Dixie this next year. I want to do things with you!!! Pool party at my house in the next couple of months!!!
OK....I think I'm going to go to cedar mountain now.
Maybe I'll post again when I get back. Happy Fourth of July!

A Cherry-picking Cow Chaser...

I mean a chasing cherry-picker cow! Oh no...it's a....cherry-picker chasing cow. And now I've thought about the word chase too much, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's really a word. And if it means what I think it does. I think it does. Anways, I was picking cherries the other day, and the LeBaron's cow got out. My dad wanted me to help chase it back into the LeBaron's yard, and so I stood behind it so that it wouldn't go the wrong way. All of the sudden, it turned and started chasing me! Well, it would have chased me if I would have turned around and run--which I desperately wanted to do, and was about to--but my dad told me to stand where I was. So I did. And I screamed. Fortunately the cow stopped right before it bowled me over. The time before THAT when I was picking cherries I had to step over the LeBaron's electric fence, which my dad told me was turned off. It wasn't. I held onto a pole for support and pushed the wire down with my finger, so that I could more easily get over it and ZAP!!! I was electrocuted. It hurt. But I didn't cry. I'm a tough girl =) I vote no more cherry picking for Kimber.
PS--I love my dad, and I don't think he is intentionally trying to bring me harm.
PPS--The LeBaron's might be =)

Broken bones

OK, so I got tagged by Claire to tell about all of my broken bones. I don't think one can fully appreciate the beauty of Hurricane without living in the snow for months. I have gone on walks with my friends at night time, and just the fact that I can walk outside of my house without putting on a coat makes me want to cry! I still usually bring a jacket with me wherever I go just for security's sake. I'm looking forward to the rest of summer--hopefully I'll be able to get a job next week so that I can stop feeling so poor! Oh, Aunty Em, There's no place like home! There's no place like home! Random, I know, but that's how it goes. We just got back from doing baptisms in the temple--what a cool experience! Afterwards we bought pajama pants at the bookstore =) What a great week! The past few weeks, kissing has been annoying. Like this morning, I was walking to school and this couple in front of me kept kissing eachother. They ran into the girl's visiting teacher, who told the boyfriend that even though she had only known the girl a couple of weeks, she knew that the girl was amazing and he was a lucky guy. He replied, "I know I'm lucky! So you've known her a little longer then I have, right?" What the heck! They were acting like a married couple, and yet they'd know each other for just a few weeks?
Yuck!

The other reason that kissing is annoying is that I've had to practice a kissing scene for one of my acting classes. I don't like it. The first day we had to practice the kiss, our director made us sit on a couch holding hands for twenty minutes while listening to romantic mood music. No joke. It was awful. Now every time we practice he makes us do the kiss over and over and over again. I think he just likes watching us kiss. It's not very enjoyable for me. Luckily I'm a dang good actress though. =)

I think kissing will continue to be annoying until June of 2009. Then it might not be so bad=)

A Tribute to Cheesy Bisquick Biscuits

Yum! I guess that would mean that I no longer have to make a choice...yay!

First True Confession

My first true confessions is that I love socks.
